How We Started

The Society first met as a group of interested persons in June of 1999 in Freeport, IL. At that time the idea of a national organization emerged. Officers were elected and plans were laid for the second annual meeting in Eugene, OR. During the Freeport meeting, certain events attracting persons to the conference also emerged. Among these events are: a 'Fleece to Feet' competition, and sessions for demonstrating and teaching various techniques and uses of the circular sock machine (CSM).

A short eleven-minute VHS tape is available free from the Circular Sock Machine Society of America (CSMSA) showing the development of this organization. The Society does ask for $7.00 to handle the cost of production, handling and mailing. Send $7.00 to CSMSA, Yellow River Station, 304 Scott Hollow Rd., Monona, Iowa 52159. The tape shows many persons who helped organize and are still active within this organization.
